Hobbit Hedge cured

Experimental Papercrete Hedge Growth Results

Hobbit Hedge cured

Cured hedge growth/roof waiting for paint. A little thinner than I would have liked, but sturdy enough!

For those of you awaiting the results of the experimental Hobbit Haven Hedge growth results, here ya go!

Hobbit Hedge test

Testing the hedge growth/roof to the hobbit house revealed a near perfect fit. A little clean up and it was off to the painting station.

Hobbit Haven-near fin

Hobbit Haven awaiting door installation and permanent hedge growth/roof mounting.

I installed acorn cap slices for window frames, amber tinted window glass (OK, they’re really plastic), and black window grilles over the windows. The door is drying and will be installed soon. I’ll post the finished photos in the next few days.

I’ve been working on several other fairy houses while completing Hobbit Haven (I jump from one house to another while components are drying to make the best use of my time). I’ll try to add more complete start-to-finish blog posts with future projects to make it easier to follow along and not have to wait so long to see the endings.

If you would like to see the “birth” of Hobbit Haven, you can start at the beginning.
